SignalNest is a local-first iOS app from Borealbit Technology Limited. The app stores scan history, sample points, labels, and comparison results on the device by default.
Data the app may store locally
Scan names, room or space names, network connection type, quality scores, speed estimates, latency results, sample positions, router markers, device markers, and before-and-after comparison summaries.
Data the app does not require
SignalNest does not need Wi-Fi passwords, exact home addresses, or unnecessary personal identifiers for its core placement-coach workflow.
Permissions
Camera access supports AR scan markers. The app does not request location or local network permissions. Notifications are optional: permission is requested only when you choose a local retest reminder, which can be cancelled in the app.
Widgets, shortcuts, and usage limits
A small cache containing the latest scan name, space name, score, completion date, and weakest measured point is shared locally between the app and its widget using an App Group. The full scan database is not shared with the widget or uploaded for sync. App Shortcuts can read the latest scan summary after device authentication. Monthly free-scan usage is stored in a device-only, non-synchronizing Keychain item; this record may survive app reinstallation. It is not an advertising identifier.
Network tests and exports
Internet measurements send test traffic to the SignalNest service and, when needed, Cloudflare Speed. These services receive connection information such as your IP address as part of normal network requests; hosting infrastructure may retain operational logs. Scan names, room markers, and saved scan history are not included in test requests. Image and PDF reports are generated on the device and shared only through actions you choose. Temporary reports are removed when dismissed or on a subsequent cold launch. There is no account-based cloud synchronization or advertising tracking in the app.
